Mr. Ebrahim Lakhi,MCIArb, MPD. is an attorney-at-law, mediator, chartered arbitrator and alternative dispute resolution consultant.
He has over 10 years experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution and has mediated/conciliated in excess of a hundred matters.
In 2012, the Supreme Court of Barbados together with the Canadian government funded ‘IMPACT Justice’ programme launched the Supreme Court Annexed Mediation Pilot Project. Mr. Lakhi was fortunate to be accepted to the programme and comprised one of the pioneer mediators for the project, which has since been officially inducted in the Supreme Court of Barbados by virtue of Supreme Court of Barbados Practice Direction 1 of 2019 and Magistrates’ Court of Barbados Practice Direction 1 of 2019.Such court annexed mediation apply to all matters before the civil jurisdiction of such courts except for bail applications, proceedings for judicial review, writs of habeas corpus, admiralty proceedings and land proceedings where title is disputed.
Since 2015, he has been an executive of the Chartered Institute of Barbados Caribbean Branch, and also serve on the Education and Training Committee.
Apart from the above, he also volunteers his alternative dispute resolution services to various non governmental and religious organisations, in order to facilitate confidential dispute resolution of matters both internal and external.
